The film begins with an epigraph from Will Durant: "A great civilization is not conquered from without until it has destroyed itself from within."

While hunting tapir in the Mesoamerican jungle, Jaguar Paw (Rudy Youngblood), his father Flint Sky (Morris Birdyellowhead), and their fellow tribesmen encounter a procession of traumatized and fearful refugees. Speaking in Yucatec Maya, the procession's leader explains that their lands have been ravaged, and asks for Flint Sky's permission to pass through the jungle. When Jaguar Paw and his tribesmen return to their village, Flint Sky tells his son not to let the procession's state of fear seep into him. At night, the tribe's elder tells the village a fable of man forever unable to fill his want, despite having been given the capabilities of all of the animals. The villagers follow the story with music and dance, leaving Jaguar Paw to ponder.

MOKPO, GANGSTER'S PARADISE

Synopsis / Plot

“Mokpo” stars Jay-hyeon Jo as Soo-cheol, a bumbling cop who gets beaten up on a regular basis. But because he’s a lot smarter than all the other cops combined (not a hard thing to be, considering the intelligence of cops in these movies) Soo-cheol’s incompetence is put up with. When prosecutor Im Ja-kyung (Seon-mi Song) arrives in Seoul with a plan to break up the Mokpo gangs, she somehow ends up with Soo-cheol as a volunteer for an undercover assignment.

In Mokpo, Soo-cheol encounters obstacles, mostly because he’s an idiot playing a gangster, and this doesn’t convince anyone, namely head hood Baek Sung-ki (In-Pyo Cha). But as dictated by the script, Soo-cheol eventually manages to worm himself into Sung-ki’s confidence. Soon Soo-cheol is living the high life and risks forgetting that he’s an undercover cop. Meanwhile, cinema aficionado Sung-ki is thinking of retiring, which doesn’t sit well with his underlings…

These are words that were created by the language’s inventor, Dr Marc Okrand, but not (yet) published in easily-accessible works (such as his books). Rather, they have appeared in online messages from him, or the pages of HolQeD, the KLI’s scholarly journal.

The Klingon language is something truly unique. While there have been other artificial languages, and other languages crafted for fictional beings, Klingon is one of the rare times when a trained linguist has been called upon to create a language for aliens. Add to this more than a quarter-century of the Star Trek phenomenon, a mythos that has permeated popular culture and spread around the globe. These factors begin to explain the popularity of the warrior’s tongue.

Klingon was invented by Marc Okrand, for use in some of the Star Trek movies. He invented not just a few words to make the Klingons sound alien, but a complete language, with its own vocabulary, grammar, and usage.

Scooby-Doo 3: The Mystery Begins known as Scooby Doo! The Mystery Begins (formerly Scooby-Doo: In the Beginning, Scooby-Doo 3: The Beginning and Scooby-Doo 3: In the Beginning) is a movie that was released on September 13, 2009. It is a television movie produced by Cartoon Network and Warner Premiere, directed by Brian Levant and distributed by Warner Home Video based on the hit Hanna-Barbera cartoon classic, Scooby-Doo. It is a prequel to the theatrical films Scooby-Doo and Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed, in the vein of Brian Levant's previous work The Flintstones in Viva Rock Vegas. The music is scored by Academy Award-nominee David Newman, who had previously scored the theatrical films.

The MPAA gave the film a PG rating for "some mild peril".

MICHAEL CLAYTON

Michael Clayton (George Clooney) adalah seorang pengacara yang terkenal sanggup membereskan masalah-masalah pelik lewat cara-cara praktis dan kadang tidak umum.

Ia dikirim ke Milwaukee oleh firma hukum tempatnya bekerja untuk mengeluarkan rekan kerjanya Arhur Edens (Tom Wilkinson) dari tahanan polisi. Kabarnya, Arthur mengalami gangguan kejiwaan dan ditangkap polisi saat berkeliaran dalam keadaan bugil.

Dalam perjalanan pulang ke New York, Arthur melarikan diri dan akhirnya ditemukan dalam keadaan tak bernyawa. Polisi menganggap kasus ini sebagai kasus bunuh diri sementara Michael beranggapan kematian itu berhubungan dengan kasus yang sedang ditangani Arthur.

Michael bertekad menyelidiki kasus kematian misterius ini. Penyelidikan membawa Michael pada keadaan yang lebih sulit. Ia harus berhadapan dengan Karen Crowder (Tilda Swinson) dan orang-orang yang sanggup membunuh agar rencana mereka berjalan lancar.

Secara fisik, penampilan George Clooney, Tilda Swinton, dan Sydney Pollack benar-benar mewakili karakter yang mereka mainkan. Kostum dan tata rambut mereka mampu mewakili tipikal profesi mereka masing-masing. Tentu saja akting mereka pun tidak perlu lagi diragukan mengingat daftar panjang film-film yang sudah pernah mereka bintangi. Tilda Swinton bahkan memboyong Oscar 2008 untuk kategori Best Supporting Actress untuk perannya dalam film ini.

Film yang digarap apik oleh sutradara Tony Gilroy ini cukup enak untuk ditonton. Latar belakang masing-masing karakter digarap tuntas namun tidak bertele-tele sehingga kesan kewajaranlah yang kita dapat saat menonton film yang satu ini. Walaupun akhir cerita tidak terlalu gampang untuk ditebak, namun Tony Gilroy nampaknya lebih memilih memoles jalan cerita yang ditata rapi daripada ending filmnnya sendiri.

Tata cahaya dan sudut pengambilan gambar pun nampak dimanfaatkan untuk memberi batas yang jelas antara kehidupan pribadi Michael dan dunia bisnis yang digelutinya. Dan akhirnya, ada pesan moral yang terbersit dari sepotong kisah yang mungkin sudah jadi hal biasa di kalangan hukum ini
